Церемониал адвента в Риме в последние десятилетия Западной Римской империи (440–476 годы)

Аннотация
В статье рассмотрены причины пребывания императоров Западной Римской империи в 440–476 гг. в Риме, а не в Равенне. Отмечается, что Рим в течение V в. играл важную роль в репрезентации императорской власти, поскольку имел большое символическое значение, обладая необходимой инфраструктурой для проведения демонстраций императорского величия. Сенаторская аристократия, проживавшая в Риме в V в., отличалась богатством и влиянием и могла воздействовать на внутренние дела империи. Доказано, что символическое значение Города и концентрация в нем влиятельных элит являлись значимыми факторами, определявшими проведение ритуала adventus именно в Риме. Adventus – это триумфальный въезд императора в город при всеобщем ликовании граждан с участием местных элит. Утверждается, что, несмотря на сложившееся в историографии мнение о забвении адвента на Западе после 404 г., adventus проводился в течение всего V в. и даже в Средние века. Церемониал адвента в Риме создавал картину единства императорской власти и сенаторской аристократии. Последняя примеряла на себя часть императорской легитимности и могла использовать торжество в собственных карьерных целях, император же демонстрировал наличие у него мощной поддержки со стороны разных слоев населения. Только Рим, обладая высоким статусом столицы империи и одновременно – места пребывания влиятельных лиц и магнатов, с помощью символического и идеологического наполнения церемонии адвента мог имитировать картину величия и процветания империи в условиях ее упадка.
